![]() ![]() Praise, commendation, laudation, extolment, extolment, eulogy, encomium, panegyric. ![]() Whenever we pray salah (daily prayer) we begin with the recitation of “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen” which is the beginning of Suratul Fatiha and means praise is to Allah, Lord of the worlds. ‘Al-hamdu lillah (all praise and gratitude belong to Allah)’ fills the scales, and ‘subhan-Allah (how far is Allah from every imperfection) and ‘Al-hamdulillah (all praise and gratitude belong to Allah)’ fill that which is between heaven and earth.” Alhamdulillah In Arabic There are several benefits of saying Alhamdulillah, and we will explore those benefits in this essay. From the daily necessities to life-changing events, Muslims understand the importance of expressing gratitude to Allah. Muslims around the world use this phrase to express their gratitude to Allah for the blessings in their lives. It is often translated to mean “Praise be to God”. Alhamdulillah that we’re in the situation that Allah (swt) has put us in, because there is always worse.Īlhamdulillah is an Arabic word that is commonly used in Islamic cultures. Not only should we say it when good things happen in our lives but we also need to say Alhamdulillah when things aren’t going our way. So why do we, as Muslims, say Alhamdulillah? We say Alhamdulillah to show our appreciation and gratitude for the creator. Muslims as well as non-Muslims use this term but in different languages.
